Oscar is a side-view platformer released in 1994 for MS-DOS. The game was developed and published by Flair Software Ltd. Players control the character Oscar across seven distinct levels, each themed after a Hollywood genre such as science fiction, western, horror, cartoons, dinosaurs, detective stories, and game shows.

The primary objective is to navigate through each themed stage to collect statuettes called Oscars. Gathering a required number of these items allows the player to complete the level. The seven levels can be tackled in any order, offering non-linear progression. Core gameplay involves running and jumping across platforms to explore the environment and locate the collectibles. Players defeat most enemies by jumping on them, which sometimes causes defeated foes to drop power-ups. These items can grant temporary abilities like invulnerability or a super jump.

Throughout the levels, players can also find a JoJo item, which can be used to break down certain walls or can function as a temporary ladder to reach higher areas. Two specific creatures are not hostile. A white rabbit provides the player with an extra continue, while touching a red elephant sets a save point within the current level, allowing progress to be resumed from that location.
