Operation Body Count is a first-person shooter released in 1994 for MS-DOS. Developed and published by Capstone Software, the game is set in a scenario where a terrorist group seizes control of a twin-tower complex during a global summit. The player assumes the role of an operative from an elite government force tasked with infiltrating the location to neutralize the threat.

Players navigate through a series of forty levels, beginning in subterranean sewers before ascending the towers floor by floor. The primary objective on each floor is to eliminate a set number of terrorists before locating an elevator or staircase to progress. Players have access to an arsenal that includes a shotgun with unlimited ammunition, an Uzi, a Galil assault rifle, a flamethrower, and a grenade launcher. A notable feature is the inclusion of allied squad members who can be commanded to follow the player or roam independently to engage enemies. The game also employs a unique life system where the player can jump between the bodies of surviving squad members, allowing progression to continue as long as one team member remains alive.

The game environment is largely destructible, with the flamethrower capable of igniting enemies, objects, and surfaces, creating spreading fires that can become environmental hazards. The grenade launcher can destroy most walls, altering the layout of levels. Operation Body Count also utilizes textured floors and ceilings, with multiple textures possible within a single level. These floor and ceiling graphics feature a parallax effect that causes them to appear to shift visually as the player moves through the space.
