Players control a warrior tasked with conquering multiple regions. This objective is structured in three distinct phases. The first involves navigating side-scrolling environments, fighting through groups of enemies to reach a target castle. The second phase requires ascending the castle's various levels. The final challenge in each region is a battle against the castle's current occupant. Throughout these stages, players must avoid hazards such as mines placed along the route.

The core gameplay combines platform navigation with hack and slash combat. Players can collect a variety of spells during their progression, which are selected and activated using designated function keys. The game tracks two separate resource pools for the character: physical energy and mental energy. Maintaining adequate levels in both of these attributes is necessary for continued progression through the game's challenges.
