Nicky Boom is a 1992 platformer game released for MS-DOS, developed and published by Microïds. The player controls Nicky, a character who must rescue his grandfather from the sorceress Zoldrane. She has placed a spell on him to learn the secrets of the forest people, and has transformed the forest's creatures into hostile guards to protect her castle.

The gameplay involves navigating Nicky through a series of side scrolling levels. Players move, jump, and duck to traverse the environment and avoid hazards. A key activity is collecting various items such as gems, bombs, dynamite, and keys. These objects are used to interact with the world, enabling actions like building bridges from logs, climbing ladders, using teleporters, or breaking walls to access hidden areas. Progression is structured around reaching the end of each level to ultimately confront Zoldrane.

Enemies are encountered throughout the forest and castle settings. Nicky can defeat them by throwing apple cores or by jumping on them. Contact with enemies in any other manner reduces Nicky's energy. The game tracks a score based on player actions, which is recorded in a high score table. To facilitate continued play, the game provides passwords that allow players to restart from specific, previously completed levels.
