Moon Bugs is a top-down arcade shooter released in 1983 for MS-DOS systems. Developed and published by Windmill Software, the game tasks the player with defending Earth from waves of insect-like alien invaders.

The player controls a spacecraft positioned at the bottom of the screen, tasked with protecting a row of uranium drums. Alien bugs descend in formations, attempting to swoop down and steal these drums before carrying them toward the top of the screen. The primary objective is to shoot the aliens to prevent the theft and to destroy any bugs that successfully grab a drum before they escape. Progression through the game's levels is structured around a space station on the left side of the screen, which gradually loads all the uranium drums. Once loaded, it establishes a connection with a satellite dish on the right, completing the level.

Scoring is directly tied to the protection of the uranium drums. At the end of each level, the player receives a two hundred point bonus for every drum that remains refueled and incurs a two hundred point penalty for each one that was stolen. An additional gameplay element involves a UFO that occasionally traverses the top of the screen. Shooting this UFO may award bonus points or trigger a special combat round. In a combat round, the player must hit a horizontally moving alien as many times as possible, with each successful hit scoring three hundred fifty points and causing the alien to reverse direction and increase its speed.
