Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge is a graphic adventure game released in 1991 for MS-DOS. Developed and published by Lucasfilm Games, it is a sequel to The Secret of Monkey Island. The game is a point and click adventure that blends comedy, puzzle solving, and a narrative centered on pirates in a Caribbean setting, presented from a side view perspective.

Players control Guybrush Threepwood, a pirate who sets out to find the legendary treasure known as Big Whoop. The story unfolds across a series of islands, which the player can explore in a non linear fashion, sometimes traveling between multiple locations. Progression is achieved by solving a wide array of puzzles, which often involve collecting and using items, engaging in conversations with other characters, and interacting with the environment. The game uses the SCUMM interface, where players select verb commands to act on highlighted objects, and features a branching dialogue system that presents multiple response options during conversations.

The game includes two selectable difficulty levels, with the easier mode, called Monkey Island 2 Lite, simplifying some of the more complex puzzles. Its visual presentation consists of hand painted graphics. A notable technical feature for its time is the iMUSE system, which dynamically synchronizes the game's music with the on screen action, allowing for smooth transitions between musical themes as the player moves through different scenes and situations.
