I first played Mighty the Armadillo in the Sega Genesis game Knuckles' Chaotix. It was developed and published by Sega as a spin-off for the 32X add-on. The game is built around a partner system, where you are tethered to another character, forcing you to manage the elastic bond between you to navigate and build momentum. The pacing is different from the blistering speed of Sonic titles; it feels more deliberate, with puzzles built around the tether mechanic.
