Ever wonder what Sonic 1 would've been like if Metal Sonic made the cut? This beta ROM hack lets you play as the robotic speedster in the original Genesis game—glitchy, unfinished, but weirdly fun. His movement feels heavier than Sonic's, like you're controlling a tank with boosters, and some of the sprites are clearly placeholders. Still, blasting through Green Hill Zone with that metallic screech is a trip.

Don't expect polish—this is clearly a "what if" mod someone dug up from old files. But if you're into Sonic deep cuts, it's a neat peek at scrapped ideas. Just watch out for the weird hitbox on loops.
