Loom is a fantasy graphic adventure game released in 1990 for MS-DOS. Developed and published by Lucasfilm Games, it is a point-and-click adventure viewed from a side perspective that incorporates puzzle-solving elements. The narrative is set in a world dominated by trade guilds, focusing on the exiled Guild of Weavers, which has mastered the art of manipulating reality.

Players control Bobbin Threadbare, a young weaver who sets out on a journey after his guild is transformed into swans. The primary objective is to explore the world, find the lost flock, and uncover the truth behind Bobbin's origins. Progression is structured through environmental interaction and puzzle-solving, centered on a unique magic system. Instead of collecting inventory items, Bobbin uses spells called drafts, which are cast by playing sequences of four notes on a magical instrument called a distaff. Players learn new drafts by observing the world and applying them in different contexts to affect objects, with spells capable of being reversed to produce opposite effects.

The game offers three difficulty settings that alter the interface's level of assistance, ranging from full visual and textual prompts for notes to an expert mode requiring auditory memorization. Later releases, such as a CD-ROM version for DOS, featured enhanced 256-color graphics and voice acting, though some original scenes were omitted. Another version for the FM Towns platform retained those scenes with similar graphical improvements but did not include voice work.
