About Links 386 Pro
Links 386 Pro is a golf simulation video game released in 1992 for the MS-DOS platform. Developed and published by Access Software, Inc., it is a follow-up to the earlier title Links: The Challenge of Golf. The game features the Harbour Town Golf Links course and presents its visuals in SVGA graphics.
Players begin by selecting a male or female golfer and customizing their clothing. They then choose a skill level, such as beginner, amateur, or pro, and a tee position. Gameplay involves controlling a golfer from a behind-the-view perspective to complete rounds of golf. The core action is executing shots using a swing meter interface; players hold a button to build power and then release and click again as the meter swings back to determine the shot's direction and accuracy. Players can select from multiple camera views, utilize a split-screen mode for multiplayer, and record their shots. Additional features include the ability to replay a shot, known as taking a mulligan, and to automatically complete very short putts, referred to as gimmes.
