The player controls a student named Eric, whose objective is to locate and delete a damaging report file from the headmaster's computer. Gameplay involves navigating a side scrolling school environment, attending classes, and performing routine tasks. Eric can interact with objects, write on blackboards, and use a slingshot to shoot pebbles. He must also avoid or confront other characters, including teachers and fellow students, while exploring the building to progress.

To access the headmaster's computer, Eric must first find passwords hidden on shields located in various rooms. Performing unauthorized actions can result in punishment, measured in lines written as a penalty; accumulating 10,000 lines leads to expulsion. Certain named students present specific obstacles. The character Angelface can contract mumps, and if Eric encounters him while infected, the game ends as Eric is sent home. Another student, Einstein, will report any misbehavior he witnesses to the teachers, creating an additional challenge.
