King's Quest I: Quest for the Crown VGA is a graphical adventure game released in 2001 for the MS-DOS platform. It is an unofficial remake developed by AGD Interactive, based on Sierra On-Line's 1990 version of the original 1984 adventure game. This version updates the presentation while retaining the core fantasy narrative and puzzle-solving structure of the earlier title.

Players control Sir Graham, a knight tasked with retrieving three magical treasures to secure the throne of the kingdom of Daventry. The game is presented from a side view, with navigation occurring across interconnected screens depicting various environments like forests, mountains, and castles. Progression is driven by solving inventory-based puzzles, conversing with characters, and exploring the world to find key items. The primary gameplay systems involve exploring the landscape for clues and objects, using collected items in logical sequences to overcome obstacles, and engaging in dialogue with non-player characters to advance the story.

This remake replaces the original text parser interface with a point-and-click command system similar to later official series entries. It features full voice acting for all characters, including the narration, and presents the graphics with an enhanced VGA color palette. The visual and audio assets were significantly revised in subsequent updates, with the 2009 version representing a comprehensive overhaul. The game's design and script remain largely faithful to the 1990 source material, though it introduces some reinterpreted character designs that later appeared in other fan projects.
