Killing Cloud is a flight action game released in 1991 for the MS-DOS platform. The player assumes the role of an officer in the SFPD, tasked with dismantling a criminal organization known as the Black Angel gang across a series of ten missions. Primary gameplay involves piloting a hoverbike through urban environments to pursue and engage enemy forces. Missions have a strict time limit, as the player can only operate for twenty minutes within the hazardous smog that blankets the city. Objectives vary between direct combat encounters and more strategic operations where planning is essential.

Progression requires successfully completing each mission to advance the narrative. A key strategic element involves using Pick-Up Pods to deploy ground forces at specific locations before an engagement. Once an enemy pilot is disabled, these pre-positioned units are necessary to make an arrest. Following an arrest, the player must conduct interrogations to extract information, which reveals the nature of the next threat and drives the campaign forward.
