Island Hopper is a top-down scrolling shooter released for MS-DOS in 1998. It was developed and published by PLBM Games. The game presents players with a continuously moving landscape viewed from above, where they pilot an aircraft through hostile environments.

Players control a single aircraft with the primary objective of navigating through the scrolling terrain while engaging various enemies. These adversaries include flying units as well as ground and water-based targets, which must be either destroyed or avoided to progress. The game structure involves advancing through distinct stages, with the core gameplay loop focusing on precise shooting and maneuvering to survive the onslaught. Scattered throughout the levels are hidden bonuses that can temporarily enhance the aircraft's firepower or provide extra points. For every 30,000 points accumulated, the player is awarded an additional reserve aircraft. The game concludes when all of the player's aircraft are destroyed.
