About Iron Blood
Iron Blood is a science fiction action game released in 1996 for the MS-DOS platform. Developed by Family Production and published by Microforum International, the game presents its action from a side view perspective within a futuristic setting.
The player selects one of two pilots, Roy Fregun or Sedrin Cleis, who control the RG-104 Cyber-Troll and SG-43 Ripple mechs respectively. Each character possesses distinct special abilities and weaponry. The primary objective is to progress through a series of levels, defeating enemy robots and confronting bosses. The game alternates between standard side-scrolling stages, where the player moves horizontally across the screen, and auto-scrolling flight sequences that require rapid movement and targeting of airborne attackers. Progression is structured around completing these stages and overcoming the unique boss encounters that conclude them.
Gameplay involves navigating platforming environments and engaging in combat. The two mechs offer different tactical approaches, with the RG-104 Cyber-Troll featuring a jet booster ability useful for reaching higher platforms. The end-level bosses each exhibit specific attack patterns, weapons, and vulnerabilities that players must identify and exploit to succeed. The visual presentation utilizes an anime-inspired graphical style.
