Home Alone is a platform game released in 1991 for MS-DOS, based on the film of the same name. Developed by Manley & Associates, Inc. and published by Capstone Software, the game presents a side view perspective. The scenario follows Kevin, a boy who has been accidentally left behind by his vacationing family, as he prepares to defend his home from two burglars.

The player controls Kevin, navigating him through the rooms of a large house. The primary objective is to prevent the burglars from successfully kidnapping him. Gameplay is divided into two distinct phases. In the first phase, which lasts one hour of in game time, Kevin must move through the mansion to set up a variety of traps in different rooms before the intruders arrive. Once this preparation time ends, the second phase begins as the burglars enter the house and the traps become active.

During the defensive phase, an on screen display indicates the current location of each burglar within the home. The player must continue to maneuver Kevin to avoid capture while the traps take effect. Each successful trap inflicts a set amount of damage on a burglar. Kevin is also equipped with a BB gun, which can be used to deal additional damage. The game is completed when the player has inflicted enough cumulative damage to cause both burglars to retreat.
