Final Fantasy Sonic X1 is one of those weird, fun Flash RPG mashups where Sonic somehow ends up in a Final Fantasy-style world. You start off with him waking up with this weird sword—no explanation, just "hey, here's a blade"—and of course, it gets snatched almost immediately. Classic RPG move.

The battles are turn-based, which feels weird at first when you're used to Sonic zipping around, but it works. You'll recruit a bunch of Final Fantasy characters along the way, and the whole thing has that janky-but-charming Flash game energy. Some of the sprite work is actually pretty solid, and the story goes places you wouldn’t expect from a crossover like this.
