Fable is a point and click adventure game released in 1996 for MS-DOS. Developed by Simbiosis Interactive and published by Sir-tech Software, Inc., it is a third-person graphic adventure featuring hand-drawn backgrounds. The narrative follows a young man named Quickthorpe as he departs from his home village.

Players control Quickthorpe through a journey across four distinct fantasy worlds, each themed around a particular element. The primary objective is to locate four mystic gemstones, which hold the secrets of an extinct race called the Mecubarz. Progression is structured around exploring these environments and solving puzzles to advance the story. Interaction is performed by clicking on objects and selecting from a list of available commands, with many puzzles requiring the collection and use of inventory items. The game includes consequences for certain actions, as incorrect choices can result in the character's death and end the game prematurely.
