About Escape From Delirium
Escape from Delirium is a graphic adventure game released in 1995 for MS-DOS. Developed by Magicom Multimedia Corp. and published by Virtual X-Perience, it is a point and click adventure presented from a third person perspective. The game blends detective and mystery themes with traditional puzzle solving mechanics.
Players control Paul Cole, an archaeologist investigating a corpse found in an abandoned subway tunnel in 1948. After an accident leaves him trapped, the primary objective becomes finding a way back to the surface. The gameplay involves exploring environments, interacting with objects, and conversing with characters to gather clues and solve puzzles. Progression is structured through a series of interconnected locations, including the tunnel system and a museum, with the narrative expanding as the player uncovers a plot involving a stolen artifact.
The adventure unfolds as the player guides Paul Cole through various challenges, from navigating the initial underground area to dealing with the consequences of a museum burglary witnessed from below. Key gameplay systems include inventory management, where collected items are used to overcome obstacles, and dialogue trees that can influence the flow of information. The tone of the game is serious in nature, focusing on the unfolding mystery and the player's efforts to clear the protagonist's name while avoiding greater peril.
