Dungeon Hack is a first-person role-playing game released for MS-DOS in 1993. Developed by DreamForge Intertainment and published by Strategic Simulations, Inc., it is a graphical dungeon crawler that integrates the procedural generation of traditional roguelikes with the real-time exploration and combat of a licensed Advanced Dungeons & Dragons title. The game is built using an engine similar to that of the Eye of the Beholder series and adheres to the AD&D 2nd Edition ruleset.

Players control a single character, venturing into randomly generated dungeons with the objective of surviving and retrieving a specific artifact from the deepest level. Progression involves navigating a series of maze-like floors filled with monsters, traps, and puzzles. Core gameplay systems include real-time combat against fantasy creatures, managing inventory and character abilities based on AD&D mechanics, and solving environmental puzzles to unlock doors or find hidden passages. The game also features a construction set, allowing players to design and explore custom dungeons in addition to the procedurally generated ones.

A central feature is the extensive random level generator, which can create over four billion possible dungeon configurations. This system allows for control over various parameters, including dungeon layout, item placement, monster frequency, and trap density, either individually or in combination. Dungeon Hack includes an optional permadeath mode, where a character's death results in the permanent deletion of that character and all associated save files, aligning it with the permanent consequences found in traditional roguelike games.
