Downhill Challenge is a skiing and snowboarding sports simulation released in 1989 for the MS-DOS platform. It was developed by Microïds and published by Brøderbund Software. The game presents its three-dimensional courses from a behind-the-back perspective of the athlete.

Players control a skier or snowboarder through a selection of alpine events, which include Slalom, Giant Slalom, Downhill, and Ski Jump. These events can be practiced individually or played in a structured Competition mode that sequences two runs of each. The primary objective is to navigate the course quickly while following its required path. In the slalom events, this involves passing between pairs of gates, while the downhill event focuses on maintaining high speed and staying on course. Collisions with environmental objects like trees or spectators, as well as missing gates, result in penalty points that reduce the final score.

The game supports multiplayer for up to five participants, who take turns on the courses. Their performances are recorded and compared at the session's conclusion. An online component, titled Play Downhill Challenge online, was also a feature, allowing for competition beyond local play. The gameplay systems center on precise steering for gate navigation, managing speed and balance on the slopes, and, for the ski jump event, timing the takeoff and landing for optimal distance and style.
