Players control the character Dino Jnr. across four distinct worlds: Under World, Sea World, Canyon World, and Sky World. Each world contains five stages that must be completed in a single play session, as the game lacks any save or password system. The primary objective in each level is to collect all gems and a golden statuette to increase the player's score, while also gathering hearts to replenish life energy. Progression involves navigating from the bottom of a stage to the top, or sometimes back again, using precise jumping to avoid various environmental hazards. These obstacles include lethal drops, flying projectiles, rolling rocks, and hostile creatures native to each world.

The player begins with three hearts representing their life energy. If a heart is lost upon taking damage, the character respawns at the same location with the remaining energy. Losing all three hearts results in a game over, though players are granted three total attempts to continue; however, the score resets with each new attempt. The game records the highest score achieved. Upon completing all worlds, bonus levels become accessible. The game also features a replay mode that increases the difficulty for subsequent playthroughs after an initial completion.
