Death Gate is a fantasy point and click adventure game released in 1994 for MS-DOS. It was developed and published by Legend Entertainment Company. The game presents its story from a first person perspective, immersing the player in a world based on the novel series of the same name.

The player controls Haplo, a young Patryn whose people were banished to a deadly realm known as the Labyrinth two millennia ago. His mission, given by his lord Xar, is to journey through the mystical Death Gate to four distinct elemental worlds. The primary objective is to locate a seal piece hidden in each world, which are necessary for the Patryn to reconstruct their original planet and confront the ancient Sartan race. Progression is structured around exploring these varied environments, interacting with characters, and gathering items.

Gameplay centers on solving numerous inventory based puzzles, which often require combining found objects or using them on the environment. A key system is Haplo's ability to cast magic spells, which is integral to overcoming obstacles and advancing the story. Players navigate static screens, using a cursor to examine scenes, collect useful items, and engage in dialogue with the inhabitants of each world to uncover clues and progress through the narrative.
