CyberMage: Darklight Awakening is a first-person shooter released in 1995 for MS-DOS. Developed by ORIGIN Systems and published by Electronic Arts, the game is set in a dark futuristic cyberpunk environment. It combines traditional shooter mechanics with role-playing elements and a narrative centered on a mysterious energy source.

Players control a protagonist who is resurrected with a crystal that grants control over a power called Darklight. The primary objective is to escape a laboratory under attack and later confront a foe named NeCrom, who also commands this power. Gameplay involves navigating through urban and combat zones, using a variety of firearms and ranged Darklight abilities, which consume a regenerating energy resource called Mann-Ra. The structure progresses through interconnected levels where players interact with switches, gather information from non-hostile characters, and operate vehicles such as tanks and air cars in certain sections.

Defeating organic enemies releases their souls, which can be collected for temporary health and Mann-Ra restoration or permanent increases to maximum capacity. Armor and other items are found throughout the environments. Currency scattered across levels can be spent on weapons at in-game shops, allowing for equipment upgrades. The control scheme supports customization for mouse or keyboard input, including functions for jumping and vertical looking.
