Commander Keen 4: Secret of the Oracle is a science fiction platform game released for MS-DOS in 1991. Developed by id Software and published by Apogee Software, it is the fourth title in the Commander Keen series and the first entry in the Goodbye, Galaxy story arc. The player controls the character Billy Blaze, an eight-year-old who adopts the persona of Commander Keen.

Gameplay is structured around a top-down map of an area called the Shadowlands, which serves as a level selection screen. From this map, the player directs Keen to enter individual side-view platform stages. The primary objective across these stages is to navigate to an exit, overcoming various environmental obstacles and hostile creatures. Players encounter enemies such as poison slugs, mosquitoes, and animated mushrooms, and must avoid hazards including pits, cannons, and spears. Keen is equipped with a raygun to stun most adversaries and a pogo stick that enables high jumps, which are essential for traversal.

Progression involves rescuing eight kidnapped Council Members to activate a galactic Oracle. Some stages are initially inaccessible from the map and require locating specific items, like a wetsuit, to reach them. Throughout the levels, players can collect ammunition for the raygun, gems that function as keys for locked doors, and various bonus items. Collecting one hundred raindrops or finding a rare Lifewater Flask each grants an additional life. Completing a stage returns Keen to the overhead map, allowing the player to choose the next destination.
