Charlie II is a side-view platformer released in 2001 for MS-DOS, developed and published by Wiering Software. The game consists of eighteen levels spread across different worlds, with some stages being hidden and accessible only through secret exits. Players progress through a series of six-level segments, each culminating in a boss encounter.

The player controls the character Charlie, who can run, jump, and dive to explore levels and uncover hidden areas. The primary objective in each stage is to collect a required percentage of all coins and diamonds before exiting. This percentage is tied to the selected difficulty setting at the start of the game, with easy requiring 55 percent, normal 65 percent, and hard 75 percent. If a player leaves a level without meeting the threshold, they must replay it. Collectibles are both visible and concealed within the environment, encouraging thorough exploration.

Gameplay involves navigating hazards and enemies without conventional weapons. Charlie can defeat foes by jumping on them or by using a temporary shield power-up found in crates. The character has a health system represented by hearts and a separate life count. Taking damage from enemies reduces hearts, and losing all hearts costs a life. Contact with spikes results in instant death. Various power-ups are scattered throughout the levels, often hidden in breakable crates. These include hearts to restore health, super hearts to increase maximum health, eggs for extra lives, letter collectibles that spell Charlie's name to grant a life, and shields for temporary invulnerability. The initial health and the collection requirement adjust based on the chosen difficulty.
