Players control a lone operative navigating a series of complex, maze-like levels. The primary objective is to progress through these environments, which have been fully remodeled with new textures, confronting increased numbers and varieties of enemy soldiers. The game provides an expanded arsenal of weapons for this task, introducing more than four new armaments including a rocket launcher alongside the original selection. Progression is structured around exploring these intricate, non-linear stages to locate exits while managing ammunition and health resources.

The level design emphasizes disorientation, with layouts intended to challenge the player's sense of direction. Gameplay systems focus on real-time combat, requiring quick reflexes to engage enemies, and on spatial navigation through the elaborate, multi-path corridors.
