African Raiders-01 is a driving simulation game released in 1989 for the MS-DOS platform. It was developed by Coktel Vision and published by Tomahawk. The game presents a rally experience set across the Sahara Desert, viewed from a third-person perspective behind the player's vehicle.

Players control a rally car through a series of long-distance stages, following a marked path across the desert terrain. The primary objective is to navigate from start to finish within each stage while managing fuel and maintaining direction. A key gameplay system involves switching between two driving modes: a 4x4 mode with a capped speed that can be stopped by path markers, and a 4x2 mode with higher potential speed that can knock markers aside but risks losing control in the sand. Players must use gear shifting to maneuver forward and backward to avoid becoming stuck on obstacles or debris. Navigation aids include an on-screen compass for direction and indicators for remaining fuel and distance traveled.

The game is structured into five distinct stages, each representing a major desert route with distances ranging from approximately 3,600 to 5,700 kilometers. These stages, which include routes from Tunis to Dakar, feature varying visible horizons and must be completed sequentially. Other computer-controlled vehicles appear on the route during both day and night cycles, and the player must overtake them to achieve a winning position in the rally. Success depends on maintaining a good time across each lengthy segment and arriving first at the final destination.
