Pokémon Perla es uno de esos hacks ROM de GBA que en realidad se siente como un juego de Pokémon adecuado, solo con mucho más polaco. You start off in this cozy little town, pick your starter (I went with the grass type, no regrets), and immediately notice the sprites are way cleaner than the original Ruby/Sapphire. Las rutas también se sienten frescas: algunos diseños nuevos, algunas batallas sorpresa de entrenadores que realmente te hacen pensar.

Lo que me gusta es que no solo abofetea el nuevo Pokémon y lo llame un día. The pacing's better, the dialogue's less cheesy, and there's this weirdly satisfying difficulty curve where wild Pokémon don't just keel over after one tackle. Si has quemado los juegos oficiales y quieres algo familiar, pero con un poco más de mordida, este es sólido.
