I picked up Tom and Jerry Games: Rocket Racket as part of the Classic Games on Mobile collection. It's one of those straightforward arcade-style games from the early mobile era, developed by a company called Fathammer, I think. It doesn't try to be anything more than a quick, fun time waster, which is exactly what I was looking for.

You control either Tom or Jerry, each on their own rocket-powered skateboard. The main goal is to hit a tennis ball back and forth, aiming to get it past your opponent and into their goal net. The core mechanics are simple: you tap to make your character dash forward to hit the ball, and you have to constantly steer your skateboard to stay in position. The real challenge comes from avoiding the bowling balls that roll across the screen; hitting one sends you spinning out of control for a few seconds. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty ramps up quickly as your opponent's returns get faster and more unpredictable. It feels like a chaotic, living-room version of air hockey where every point is a small victory.
