I've been playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Cliff Hangup on my phone, part of the Classic Games on Mobile collection. It's a straightforward port of the old Game Boy game, originally from Konami. This was a time when portable games were simple, built around one core idea you could pick up and play in short bursts.

You control one of the four turtles, climbing a seemingly endless vertical shaft. Your goal is to simply get as high as you can without falling. The main mechanic is timing your jumps from one side of the shaft to the other, latching onto the walls with your grappling hook. You have to avoid gaps in the walls and descending enemies, which can knock you loose. The pace is relentless; the screen scrolls upward constantly, forcing you to make quick decisions. It feels like a tense race against the clock where one mistimed jump sends you tumbling back down.
