I've been playing SpongeBob SquarePants: Questpants 2 on my phone through the Classic Games on Mobile collection. It's a straightforward mobile port from that era when simpler 2D platformers were common on the platform, originally developed by WayForward. The game fits right in with other side-scrolling adventures from that time.
You control SpongeBob, and sometimes Patrick, through screen-by-screen levels across Bikini Bottom. The main goal is to find the Mermalair and fix the time machine after Plankton causes trouble. You run, jump on platforms, and use a bubble wand to attack enemies like jellyfish. You also collect golden spatulas to unlock new areas and search for hidden socks. The pacing is quick, with some tricky jumps and enemy patterns that require a few tries. It feels like a brisk, cheerful trip through the show's locations.
