Ben 10: Alien Rivals is one of those quick, chaotic brawlers where you pick a hero, mash buttons, and hope your random perks outweigh the weird penalties the game throws at you. You start off choosing between Heatblast, Shockrock, or a few others—I usually go for Stinkfly because spraying gunk everywhere never gets old. Then it’s just you versus some alien like Wreckingbolt, who hits like a truck but moves like one too.

The real fun is in the modifiers. Sometimes you’ll get a speed boost but deal half damage, or your attacks freeze enemies but you’re stuck with janky controls. It’s messy, but in a way that makes every fight feel unpredictable. Just don’t expect deep strategy—this is pure, dumb fun for when you’ve got five minutes to burn. The roster could use a few more aliens, though.
