About Pokemon Pinball
Pokemon Pinball came out for the Game Boy Color in 1999, developed by Jupiter and published by Nintendo. It was a solid title during the handheld's peak, a time when developers were experimenting with how to translate popular franchises into different genres. This game took the familiar world of Pokemon and dropped it squarely onto a virtual pinball table.
You control the flippers, aiming to keep the ball in play as long as possible. The main goal is to catch and evolve Pokemon by hitting specific targets and completing mini games on two themed tables, one for Red and one for Blue. Signature mechanics include using the capture bar to "catch" a Pokemon after you've stunned it, and a rumble feature in the cartridge that vibrates on solid hits. The game moves quickly, demanding sharp reflexes to navigate the table's ramps and bumpers. It feels like a genuine pinball machine fused with the collecting thrill of its source material.
